The big news for Fiat at the 2012 Mondial de l'Automobile was the world premiere of three new additions to the Panda range, namely the 4x4, Trekking and Natural Power models.
And they weren't along as the cars were joined at the presentation by Miss Italia 2012, 19-year old Giusy Buscemi from Sicily. In case you wondering why, Fiat happens to be one of the official sponsors of the Miss Italia pageant with the latest generation of the Panda being the official car of the event.

The charming Giusy Buscemi made her entrance to the Parisian catwalk set up at the center of the Fiat stand aboard the new Panda 4×4, which the Italian company says is "the only four-wheel drive model in the A-segment".

The differences over the regular Panda include the adoption of a permanent all-wheel drive system with two differentials and electronically controlled coupling along with the addition of a standard ESC (Electronic Stability Control) system with ELD (Electronic Locking Differential).

Fiat's engineers also modified the suspension with the AWD variant sporting a higher travel ride along with an independent MacPherson arrangement up front and an interconnected wheel with torsion beam layout at the rear, specifically developed for this model.

A modest styling package that includes protective plates under the bumpers, plastic surrounds and new wheels on the outside, and a green frame around the dashboard and unique upholstery on the inside complete the visual updates.

Engine choices for the all-wheel drive Panda include an 84hp (85PS) 0.9-liter TwinAir Turbo petrol and a 74hp (75PS) 1.3-liter MultiJet II diesel.

The other two new additions to the Panda rangethat debuted in Paris are the Trekking, which borrows the looks and taller ride height of the 4x4 but keeps the regular model's FWD layout, and the Natural Power fitted with a dual fuel (methane and petrol) 79hp (80PS) 0.9-liter two-cylinder TwinAir Turbo engine.

Mitsubishi Showcases Production Version of New Outlander Plug-in Hybrid in Paris

Nearly a year after Mitsubishi unveiled the concept car in Japan, the production version of the new Outlander Plug-in Hybrid EV (PHEV) has been unwrapped at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The PHEV will first go on sale in Japan early next year, followed shortly after by Europe, North America, and other regions around the world.
Mitsubishi says the new generation of the Outlander was developed from the beginning to be offered with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain.
The system incorporates a 2.0-liter petrol engine up front, a 60kW (80Hp) electric motor, inverter and generator located on the left side of the engine compartment, a 12kWh battery pack stored under the floor within the wheelbase and a rear 60kW (80Hp) electric motor and generator located under the floor.
The Outlander PHEV can be driven in three different modes using various combinations of the petrol engine and electric motors.
In Pure EV mode, the crossover is powered by the front and rear electric motors alone that offer a driving range of 55km (34 miles), while in Series Hybrid mode, the gasoline engine operates as a generator supplying juice to the electric motors. Finally in Parallel Hybrid Mode, the 2.0-liter unit drives the crossover assisted by the electric motors whenever required.
The automaker says the Outlander PHEV will return an estimated combined fuel efficiency in excess of 61 km/liter (equal to 143.5 mpg US, 1.64 lt/100km and 172 mpg UK) on the Japanese driving cycle, with the use of the batteries that can be charged in around 4 hours.

Peugeot Onyx scooter concept, not as simple as just a vehicle

Peugeot concept car is never so simple, like this scooter, it is also called Onyx, it is also covered with a black / copper-colored coat, it is the brothers of Onxy hybrid concept supercar. Seems directly out to come from the Japanese science fiction animated film "Akira" – Onyx three-wheeled scooter.
Compared to the Onyx supercar 680 horsepower, Onyx is more in line with the identity of the scooter, 400cc engine with the electric motor, integrated maximum power of 60 horsepower and peak torque of 58 Nm, they pass through a 17-inch rear wheels to the ground.

In between the cockpit and the seat is a storage unit called the ClipBox. scooter is in Sport Mode with the ClipBox affixed, the rider leaning against it to reach the handlebars, naturally pushing the feet into a more sportbike-like position. Remove the ClipBox and the Onyx goes into Urban Mode, a more traditional scooter configuration with an upright seating position. Peugeot says it’s good for 30 miles of all-electric travel at 31 mph, or 310 miles if it uses the ICE. You can check out its transformation in the attached photo gallery, and we’ll find out more in person at the Paris Motor Show.

Peugeot 2008 Soft-Roader Concept Hits at Next Year's Production Model

Peugeot 2008 Soft-Roader Concept Hits at Next Year's Production Model

Besides the 260bhp RCZ R and the Onyx Supercar and Super Scooter models, Peugeot is also displaying a fourth concept model at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, the 2008, which hints at the firm's Nissan Juke rival that will be presented next year.
The 2008 is a follow up to the ‘Urban Crossover Concept’ revealed in Beijing earlier this year with a more vibrant color scheme, but other than that, the two models are identical.
At 4.14m long and 1.74m wide, the Peugeot 2008 is 5mm longer and 25mm narrower than Nissan's B-segment crossover.
Under its bonnet, the 2008 Concept debuts the PSA Peugeot-Citroen Group's newly developed 3-cylinder petrol engine series. In this application, the 1.2-liter unit is equipped with a turbocharged and direct-injection technology to produce a power output of 110-horses.
The French carmaker states that the new engine combines a high output for its displacement with low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
Testing of the production version of the 2008 has already began with our spies having nabbed the first camouflaged prototypes earlier this summer.
